Who we are

Webbuild ("we", "us") is a web design studio that designs, builds and maintains websites for small businesses. This policy covers webbuild.tech and the information you share with us while working with us.

Questions about privacy? Email welcome@webbuild.tech.

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact form: your name, email address, business name (if you add it), the plan you're interested in and your message.
  • Email: anything you include when you write to us.
  • If you become a client: contact and billing details, and the content you send us for your website, such as text, logos and photos.

Information collected automatically

Like every website, ours is delivered by a hosting provider, Netlify. To serve pages and keep the site secure, Netlify processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, in short-lived server logs. We don't use this to identify you.

What we don't collect

No cookies, no analytics, no advertising or social media trackers, and no payment card details on this website. We only ask for what we need to reply to you.

How we use it

  • To reply to your message and prepare a quote.
  • To design, build and maintain your website if you become a client.
  • To send invoices and keep the records the law requires.
  • To keep this site secure and filter out spam.

We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for advertising. We don't send newsletters or marketing emails. If that ever changes, we'll only email you with your permission, and every marketing email will include a link to unsubscribe.

Legal bases (EU and UK visitors)

If you're in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on these legal bases:

  • Steps you ask for before a contract, and the contract itself: replying to your enquiry and providing our services.
  • Legitimate interests: running and securing our website and business.
  • Legal obligation: keeping tax and accounting records.

Who we share it with

Only with service providers that help us run our business, who may use it only to provide their service to us:

  • Netlify, Inc. hosts this website and receives and stores contact form messages. Netlify checks form messages for spam, which can involve a spam-filtering service.
  • Google (Google Workspace) provides our business email.
  • Our payment or invoicing provider, if you become a client, to send invoices and take payments.

We may also share information if the law requires it. We never sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

These providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, they use recognised safeguards for international transfers.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that don't lead to a project: deleted within 12 months.
  • Client records: for as long as we work together, then only as long as tax and accounting laws require.
  • Server logs at our hosting provider: kept for a short time, then deleted automatically.

Your rights and deleting your data

You can ask us to:

  • show you the personal information we hold about you,
  • correct it if it's wrong,
  • delete it,
  • send you a copy in a portable format, or
  • stop or limit how we use it.

To make a request, email welcome@webbuild.tech from the address you used with us. We may ask a question to confirm it's really you. We'll reply within 30 days and won't charge you or treat you differently for asking.

California residents have these rights under the CCPA, including the right to know, delete and correct. We don't sell or share personal information as defined by California law. If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Request data deletion

Children

Our website and services are for businesses. They aren't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us their information, email welcome@webbuild.tech and we'll delete it.

Security

This site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), we use reputable providers, and we limit who can see your information. No method of sending or storing data is completely secure, but we work to protect yours.

Cookies

This website doesn't use cookies. See our cookie policy for the one small preference your browser can remember.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll make it clear on the site.
